Gingetsu is the only hot spring post town on the Nakasendo, Suwa shuku, with water sourced directly from Wata-no-yu. The ryokan has four outdoor baths, including a private rotenburo that couples can rent for 30-minute increments in the evening. Guests also have access to a public bath and an open-air bath overlooking the traditional Japanese garden with koi swimming.

The hotel is within walking distance of Suwa Taisha Shimosha Akimiya, and the owner leads a free early-morning guided tour of the shrine and the Asamikesai ritual. Nearby sites include Suwa Lake (2 miles), the Aotsuka Tomb Yamada Chino Togariishi Museum, and the Kirigamine Plateau. Guests also have access to Matsumoto (20 miles from Gingetsu) and the Okaya Silk Museum.
